Dollar Store Cooking Vol. 1 - Pasta Salad
I've been thinking about trying this experiment for a while, so here's the first attempt. RULES: 1. Everything must be purchased from the dollar store or listed as a cheat. 2. Leftovers (stuff you didn't use) can be used later. 3. Cost = Items Purchased + Cheats - Leftovers Items purchased: 1. Mini cucumbers 2. Roma tomatoes 3. Bell peppers 4. Green onions 5. Sliced turkey 6. Asparagus salad 7. Black olives 8&9 Pasta Salad mix. Cheats = Salt, crushed red pepper, a little bit of italian dressing. Nom-alicious! Leftovers: 1/2 of the cucumbers 1/2 of the tomatoes 2/3 of the peppers 3/4 of the onions Bottom line: Items purchased ~ 9.00 + cheats ~ 0.10 - leftovers ~ 2.41 Total = 6.69 Fed 6 = $1.13 per serving. I should have bought a box of saltines!

ReplyDeleteNone of which prevents me from appreciating the dig at Bin Laden. :)
Is hypocrat, the present tense perhaps?
